What is the difference between medical non-woven fabrics and ordinary non-woven fabrics?

Update:06 May 2022
Medical non-woven fabrics and ordinary non-woven fabrics are very common in our daily life, but if you want to distinguish them, you can't tell the difference. Today, let's follow Jiaxing Wanxin New Material Co., Ltd. to see what is the difference between medical non-woven fabrics and ordinary non-woven fabrics?

Non-woven fabrics refer to non-woven fabrics, and medical non-woven fabrics are a type of non-woven fabrics. Medical non-woven fabrics are made of spunbond, meltblown, and spunbond (SMS) processes, and have the characteristics of antibacterial, hydrophobic, breathable, and lint-free.

1. Multiple antivirus compatibility
Excellent medical non-woven fabrics need to be suitable for various sterilization methods at the same time, preferably pressure steam, ethylene oxide, hydrogen peroxide and other three sterilization methods, which can be used at the same time. And ordinary non-woven fabrics have not been sterilized.

2. The performance of antivirus
Medical non-woven fabrics generally need to use a three-layer SMMMS meltblown layer structure. Common medical non-woven fabrics in the industry use a single-layer SMS meltblown layer structure. In contrast, the resistance is better than a single layer for a three-layer structure. Ordinary non-woven fabrics have no meltblown layer in the middle, nor can they have anti-virus effect.

3. Use environmental protection
Excellent medical non-woven fabric, using green PP particles for environmental protection. However, ordinary non-woven fabrics cannot withstand high humidity conditions.

4. Strict quality control
The production process of good medical non-woven fabrics needs to pass the ISO13485 international medical product quality management system certification, and conduct real-time online testing for each step in the production process. This ensures that each medical non-woven piece is sent to the quality inspection department and has a relevant batch inspection report. However, ordinary nonwovens do not require medical-level testing.
